GOD'S WORD DAILY

VOLUME 1, ISSUE 14                                          JULY 27, 2001

OUR WALK WITH GOD,
     WORD OF THE DAY: "RULE"

Scripture reference: Galatians 6:15, 16:

     "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails (is strong in body; mighty, powerful;
prevails ) any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

And as many as walk according to this rule, (standard) peace be on them, and mercy, and
     upon the Israel of God."

Who wants peace and mercy? I do! I do! Who wants to prevail and be strong and mighty, in the Lord
God? I do! I do!

Ya wanna know what I love about God? He makes His way so clear and plain. He lays
out all the blessings in front of our eyes and says, "Here ya go, kid! It's all yours! Here's what ya do."

Peace and mercy is promised to as many as walk according to the standard of Christ in them!

Peace and mercy and power to prevail are to both individuals who walk in Christ, and to the body of
believers, as a group, who walk in the newness of Christ also!

It is not in the keeping of the Law and legalistic doctrines and standards of men that give us peace and
mercy. It is not in keeping a certain outward appearance. It is not in the imposition of rules and
regulations. It is in the walk by the spirit, living in the standard of the newness of life, that is in
Christ Jesus that gives us peace! Walk in fellowship with God the Father and with the Lord Christ Jesus,
walk by the spirit. Walk according to the new creation that is in you. Walk in the newness of the spirit
not the oldness of the letter of the Law.

We are FREE in Christ! YEEHAW!

Set your affections on things above, not on things of the earth! We can spend a lot of time focussing on
our sins and on our fleshly weaknesses. There is no peace in that. We tend to condemn ourselves when
sin is our main focus. Focus instead, on things above, setting your affection on the things of the spirit.
Focus not on what's weak about you, but what is good about God. That way, when you mess up
(as we all do), you confess the sin, move on immediately and continue in the liberty that is in Christ! FREEDOM!!! REJOICING!!!PEACE!!!MERCY!!!O God!!! He is worthy of our praise, continually!

There is peace knowing we are free, forgiven, loved, and not condemned. I feel like doing a cartwheel!!
What an awesome, loving God we serve! His mercy is new everyday! And we have power and strength! Yippee!

"Let's walk according to this rule."
