WORD OF THE DAY:
     ABOUT KINGS

This issue of GWD is written by a believer from the Midwest. He e-mailed me his
comments about government which you will find here. I added the verses of
Scripture that support his teaching. Thank you, Ralph, for teaching the Word of
     God to us more perfectly..

In your last GWD you said "Although not every leader in every government is
necessarily a godly one, having civil government is a God initiated idea."

I remember from First Samuel that Sam got hacked at the people of Israel because
they rejected God from being king and desired a king like all the other nations
and tribes around them. In fact, the first king God chose for them turned away
     from God[I Samuel 15:11, 26, 28; I Samuel 16:13; Acts 13:21, 22] and that is
why God chose David to be king in his stead.

     I Samuel 8:6

6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give
us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

[displeased: Hebrew: was evil in the eyes of]

7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice
of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not
rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not
          reign over them.

I don't believe that civil government was invented by or preferred by God. I believe
that it is an invention of man. I believe that God wants all men to be a holy
     priesthood unto him.

     1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew
forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
          darkness into his marvellous light:

     Rev.5:10

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and
we shall reign on the earth.

Jesus came and through most of his ministry he proclaimed the
impending Kingdom of Heaven and today all those who are born again
are royal sons of the King and citizens of that Kingdom, with our
big brother, Jesus the Christ, as Lord [Romans 10:9] and God as King.

     Matthew 25:34

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come,
ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for
you from the foundation of the world:

     1 Timothy 1:17

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only
wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

     Revelation 17:14

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb
shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King
of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen,
          and faithful.

     Revelation 3:21

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my
throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with
          my Father in his throne.

Thank you for soliciting our comments to your e-mails, but most of all, thank you for
     sending us your emails.

     With love, your brother
     Ralph
