GOD’S WORD DAILY
WORD OF THE DAY:
NO LAW, NO PUNISHMENT
Romans 4:13-16
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world,
was not to Abraham,
or to his seed, through the law, but through
the righteousness of faith.
14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void,
and the promise made of none effect:
15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is
no transgression.
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end
the promise might be sure to all...
The other day when I read the Bible, one verse popped out like it never had before. I had
No flesh can be justified by the works of the law. No one can ever earn it by works. Jesus
paid the complete price. He fulfilled all the works of the law so that we can be made the
righteousness of God in Him.
Yes, I am a sinner because I sin. I make mistakes. But that is not how God sees me.
That is not my perpetual state. I am not stuck dead in trespasses and sins. I have been
crucified with Christ and I now live by the faith of Jesus Christ! God sees me as
an heir. He made me a joint heir with Christ. He redeemed me from death, He made me to
be seated in the heavenlies with Christ. I am righteous. I am justified. I am
sanctified. I am saved by grace through faith. So are YOU!
What a waste of God's time to beat myself up! Jesus
is my complete saviour. I can add nothing to His accomplishments to earn any more
righteousness for myself! I am righteous now and for always!
Romans 4:15
The law works[accomplishes] wrath [punishment, vengeance].
For where no law is there is no transgression [violation].
How can I break the law if there is no law to break? How can I be punished for a
crime if there was no crime committed? So why would any one of us, as sons of
God, waste our energy and time, condemning ourselves for violating a law that
DOES NOT EXIST??
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus...
Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ.
Here is our peace! We are justified by faith! Our works will neither earn it nor take it away!
Praise God! Give thanks unto Him and magnify His name! We have peace with God, not
wrath, not punishment! We have not violated any law! The promise is sure unto us
all! We are saved by grace through faith! We believed unto righteousness and
confessed unto salvation! [Romans 10:9, 10] We now have peace in Him. AMEN!
