GOD’S WORD DAILY

     VOLUME 1, ISSUE 102                                                             NOVEMBER 15, 2001

WORD OF THE DAY:

     BE NO MORE CHILDREN:
     BE LIKE MEN

God has placed people with gift ministries in the Body of Christ to function so
that henceforth, we are no more babes in Christ, who fluctuate and surge
from the Word, to different doctrines and back again. God would have all of us
so seasoned and mature in the Word and in Christ, so that we are not
deceived by the trickery of men.

     Ephesians 4:14

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to
and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine,
          by the sleight
[fraud, artifice] of men, and cunning
          craftiness
[trickery] , whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

I have been feeling so tossed lately, fluctuating between two standards
and back again. My answer? Since the purpose of the gift ministers is to help
us grow up in the Lord and be no more children who are tossed to and fro, then I
need to go to seek wise counsel from someone with a gift ministry. Their
purpose is to assuage my tendency to be deceived, tossed to and fro from
     the Word to different doctrines.

     James 1:6

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that
wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind
          and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any
          thing of the Lord.

Anytime I am fluctuating between faith and unbelief I cannot be stable. I
will not receive my answer. God wants me to know and to understand, without
a shadow of a doubt, what His Word and will is. This is where He wants me to
grow up. Its ok to be childlike in believing [Matthew 18:2-4] and in malice, but in
understanding, He wants me to be like a mature man.

     1Co 14:20

Brethren, be not children in understanding:
          howbeit in malice
[Greek: kakia = depravity,
          trouble, malignity]
be ye children, but in
          understanding be men.
[perfect, or, of a ripe age].

     I Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away
          childish things.
[thought: or, reasoned]

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

God I want to be stable and mature in Christ. I want to understand what your
will is. I want to live according to your will. I no longer desire to be
tossed to and fro and driven by the wind and tossed. Amen.
