OUR WALK WITH GOD,
     WORD OF THE DAY:" NEWNESS"

Scripture reference: Romans 6:4

"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:
that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in newness of life."

"NEWNESS"

From Bullinger's Critical Lexicon to the English and Greek New Testament,
"newness" means "newly made;not merely recent, but different from that
which had been formerly; new, as coming in the place of a thing that was formerly,
and not yet used."

Jesus Christ became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness
of God in him. He exchanged his perfect, sinless self for our sins and
iniquities. He died for us and was buried three days and three nights.
Then God, in His glory, raised him up a new, an alive man! He defeated
the consequences of sin and paid for our sins in full.

Our old man nature, which is dead in trespasses and sins, was crucified
with Jesus. (vs.6) It is dead and gone.It is past and it is behind us now.
Our new man nature, which is created in Christ after true holiness,
was raised up with Jesus in place of the old. So let us walk in
newness of life, reflecting what Christ did for us. From now on,
let us serve God, not sin.
