GOD'S WORD DAILY

OUR WALK WITH GOD,
     WORD OF THE DAY: "WALK IN CHRIST"

Scripture reference:Colossians 2:6,7;

     "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
     Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been
     taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."

Do you remember what it was like for you when you first came to God, trusting his Word for yourself,
when you first received salvation and manifested it? Recall how it was you came to Christ on that day.

How did we receive Christ? Did you believe the Word of God was true? Did you come meekly, like a
child? Did you expect to be filled with the holy spirit? Did you earn by your good works, salvation and
the ability to speak in tongues, interpret tongues, prophecy, receive word of knowledge, word of wisdom,
and discerning of spirits? Did you earn the spiritual ability to operate gifts of healings, faith and
workings of miracles?

We received Christ not by our good works. [Greek word: paralambano, receive for our own, into
manifestation. It denotes not only receiving something objectively, like getting a present, but also
receiving it subjectively; like using that present, as well.] We were saved by GRACE through faith
(Ephesians2:8). We had to be strong in faith, with no doubt, fully persuaded that what God had
promised,He was able to perform. We were strong in grace, certain that God would forgive us our
sins, save us, and fill us with holy spirit. We received salvation and we operate the manifestations
of holy spirit with rejoicing and with thanksgiving!!! We are taught through the Scriptures, and by
the examples of other faithful men and women, who not only speak about God, but who act upon His Word, also.

We are instructed here, to simply continue to walk in Christ as we have received Christ. We are
exhorted to become rooted and built up in him. Rooted= Established, can't be yanked up, firm, gripped
in, immovable. Built up= build a house upon.

Build your house up on the Rock, the foundation, Jesus Christ. Our foundation is firm. It is not here
one day and gone the next. It is not driven by every wind of doctrine and tossed on the shore. It is
constantly there. Our house is rooted firmly in Christ. We are in the process of becoming established
in the faith, and in the process of becoming more like Jesus but what we build, we build it upon Jesus
our Lord. Build up yourselves in your most holy faith by speaking in tongues much. It will build you up
in the inner man.

As we received Christ, so walk we. Firmly established in the faith, strong in grace, giving glory to
God, and abounding therein in thanksgiving.
