FEAR GOD: The Benefits, Part 10,
     WORD OF THE DAY:"HOPE"

Scripture reference: Psalm 147:11:

"The LORD takes pleasure [ accepts, favours, delights]
in them that fear him, in those who hope in his mercy."

"Pleasure" is the same Hebrew word as yesterday's word of the day, "desire."
"Hope" means to wait, to tarry for. It implies trust and patience.

Job14:14

"...all the days of my appointed time will I wait,
     till my change come."

Wait patiently until you receive the alternative, the change you seek.

Psalm 43:5

"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art
thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall
yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance,
     and my God."

While you wait, praise Him. Instead of moaning about the pain and the depressing thoughts,
Praise His Holy name! God is your strength and He is your health. He is your tender, loving Father.

Psalm 69:3

"I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried:
mine eyes fail while I wait for my God."

Does this verse reflect a God who understands what we endure at times? Sometimes,
it seems like we must wait forever for our answer, for deliverance, for change to come.

Psalm 71:14

"But I will hope continually, and will yet praise
     thee more and more."

No matter how long it seems to take, hope, in trust in and wait for God continually.

Psalm 130:5

" I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope."

Hope continually. Wait for the Lord God your deliverer and salvation. While you wait patiently for your
change to come, praise God for His mercy and goodness. Continually trust His Word.

God takes pleasure in those who fear Him and who hope in His Word. Amen.
