WORD OF THE DAY: "BE OF GOOD CHEER"

Scripture references: John 16:33

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might
have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation
[mental
     pressure, affliction]
: but be of good cheer; I have overcome

[subdued, got the victory, prevailed over] the world. "

Be of good cheer = " have courage."

Knowing the Words of the Lord we have peace. It is not in mental assent that we have peace. Some
may know they can ask anything in the name of Jesus Christ to receive the promises of God. But if
they do not believe it, they will not manifest the fullness of blessings that God desires for them.

He has given us specific instructions and promises. When we have faith, when we are of good cheer,
when we have courage, we have peace in Jesus Christ. Fear never appropriates promises. Fear defeats
them. Let yourself be of good cheer by thinking the promises of God. Confess them over your
tribulations. Dwell on The Overcomer.

I John 5:4, 5

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even
     our faith.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that
believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Yes, there are tremendous mental pressures in the world. Go to school for one day and stand
against peer pressure and you can see that! Go to the job and deal with hardened unbelief all
day and you can see that! Deal with more bills in the month than income to cover the expenses
and it is evident also. There is tribulation out in the world.

Be of good cheer, Jesus commands. Since there is tribulation out in the world, how can we
possibly be of good cheer? We can take courage in the truth that Jesus Christ has overcome the
world. We have victory through Jesus Christ.

God never promised an easy life without struggles. In fact, struggles oftentimes make us
stronger Christians as a result of our search for answers and our determination to put on
the mind of Christ in order to overcome. Anything we ever have to come up against, overcome
or deal with, Jesus has already overcome.

I John 4:4

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:
because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Be of good cheer. Jesus has overcome. You have peace in Jesus Christ. Greater is He that is in you than he
who causes the mental pressure out in the world. You will overcome by faith. Praise the Lord!
