GOD’S WORD DAILY
THE WHOLE ARMOR
Part 1
We need the whole armour of God to stand and to withstand. Most situations we face everyday are not crossroads type encounters, nor blatant, in your face attacks. Let us be prepared for the simple everyday choices by standing faithful on principle as best as we can, even on the "little" things.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…
When you are protecting the very essential life of man, you need TRUTH. Without truth there is no life and especially not the fullness of life that God intends for His children. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. Gird yourself everyday in the truth. Abide in Christ and let his word abide in you. It is life and it is power.
…and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Also, protect your heart from condemnation with the breastplate of righteousness. Many Christians are taken out of the battle when the enemy hits their heart with sin consciousness, shame, guilt and condemnation. You are the righteousness of God through Christ.
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Without feet, you cannot stand. When the trials of life threaten to blow you off your feet, you need to be prepared with the gospel of peace. You need to wear your shoes. The battle is not the time to find a shoemaker or realize that your shoes don't fit anymore. Before you go out everyday, put your shoes on. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. You must have the prince of peace to stand quiet, and fearless in the face of adversity. The promises of God through Christ will still the storms. Be ready. Have the Word in your heart and practice meditating the Word day and night.
Tomorrow we will look at the other parts of the armor we each need to stand and to withstand.
