GOD’S WORD DAILY
PREPARED FOR BATTLE
It is ridiculous to think that an army dude would go into battle unprepared, with an ill-fitting uniform or lacking essential survival gear. Yet this is what many Christians do everyday. We are in a spiritual battle. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and against wickedness. We need our essential survival gear on, armed and ready, AT ALL TIMES.
Ephesians 6:10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles
[trickery] of the devil.
The enemy wants to take us down and take us out. God wants us to STAND and to withstand.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
We need the WHOLE armor of God to be able to stand and to withstand. Without our gear on, we cannot stand. We will fall. Without the whole armor on, we may be taken out of the battle before it begins!
Tomorrow we will begin to look at the essential survival gear we each need everyday to stand and continue to withstand.
Father, thank you for providing us the equipment we need to stand firm and stand fast through Christ. Amen.
