CONTINUE IN HIM

I have been hanging around many well-meaning people who half-heartedly want God to toss a few blessings their way. Having no confidence that it is the will of God, I frequently hear them say, " If the God wills, I will recover," or "If God wills, He will provide." I began to doubt that it is God's will for us to boldly proclaim His Word and expect Him to perform it. Doubt is not a good thing.

Then, this morning, my alarm clock went off, as usual. It is tuned to a Christian teaching station. The preacher was quoting this verse.

John 15:7

If ye abide [to stay in a given place, state, relation or expectancy]in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Well, AMEN! This is the answer to the expectation of those who want deliverance, but cover up unbelief by holding God responsible for unanswered prayer with the words, "It must not have been God's will." Blaming God for unanswered prayer is not a good thing either. If we stay, remain in and stand fast in Christ and in the promises of God, if we ask for whatever promise we will, then it will be done.

The question is not,"Is this God's will?" His will is His Word. If He promised it in His Word, it IS His will. The questions are, "Is this my will? Do I want deliverance?" (John 5:6)

God promises us many things. It takes faith to receive the promises of God. In this verse, we are promised that IF you and I abide in Christ, [fellowship] and IF His WORDS abide in you and me, then when I ask what I will, it will be done. When you ask what you will, it will be done.

WOW! Fellowship with God our Father and with our Lord Jesus Christ is a big key to receiving.

John 15:16

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Psalm 69:29-33

But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. 30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. 31 This also shall please the LORD... 32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God. 33 For the LORD hears the poor, and despises not his prisoners.

Our God hears our cries. He is ever present and merciful. Praise Him for His power and might and name. Trust in God no matter what situation you face. He is with you. Continue in God, remain strong in the Lord Jesus Christ. Stand fast in faith. Ask what you will and it shall be done. Praise His holy name.
