JESUS CHRIST:
The Foundation of Our Faith

     SPEAK THE TRUTH

The Bible testifies of itself that it is the truth.

John 17:17

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

When what I speak contradicts the truth of the God's Word, am I telling the truth? No. How about when the facts of my life, the struggles, the temptations, the challenges of health, finance, and so on are reflected accurately by my words but contradict the promises of God? Am I speaking the truth then?

God's promises are true. My problems may be in my life at the moment but God's Word is still true. His promises are truer than any problem I face no matter what it is. I can agree with the Word and begin to confess the promise. If I do not faint, I will eventually receive the promise.

Ephesians 4: 25

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

What if I am confessing the Promise of God, which I have not received yet. Let's say I am physically ill and I am saying, "By His stripes I am healed." You can see that I am ill yet my words are saying I am healed. Am I lying or telling the truth? I am speaking truly. However, people who do not understand these principles will think I am off my rocker. To them, I could say," At this time I expect God to heal me, just as He promised. By His stripes I was healed." If we understand that we will get what we speak, then it behooves us to understand that confession of the truth, confession of the promises are necessary in order to have faith to receive them. The Word is truth.

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If I want to receive the promise and get rid of the problem, then I need to talk up the promise and stop telling everybody about my problem. Faith comes by hearing the spoken Word. The father of believing, Abraham, understood this.

Romans 4:17

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,)
before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead,
and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

God and Jesus Christ both operate in this manner. God said Let there be light. And then there was light. Jesus said to the blind man, Receive your sight. And the man left seeing. There was not light until God called it. It was not, but God called it as if it already was. The blind man could not see, but Jesus called out his ability to see before it was and then he received his sight.

Satan may come along to my mind and tell me,"You aren't getting any better. I think you're getting worse." If I agree with that negative assault against my faith instead of cast down that false thing that comes against the promise of God, then guess what. I will fall short of receiving the promise.

No matter what, let us decide to speak the truth. Oh how God will be glorified as His promises come to pass in our lives more and more! Amen.
