JESUS CHRIST:      The Foundation of our Faith      The Son of God with Power        Part One      In the Old Testament Scriptures, God promised He would make a Savior for the people,      who would redeem them from the consequences of sin; death. According to the flesh, Jesus      Christ came from the lineage (genealogy) of King David. But Jesus was declared God's      son with power, according to the spirit of holiness, when he was resurrected from the dead      (No other prophet before, nor since Jesus, has ever been resurrected from the dead!).        Romans 1:3, 4           Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was           made of the seed of David according to the flesh;           4 And declared to be the Son of God with power,           according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection           from the dead...        God called out Jesus Christ. He called Him to fulfill His purpose. God determined who      and what manner of man Jesus could become. He laid out what Jesus would accomplish      for all of mankind. Ultimately, Jesus did not HAVE to do it. Jesus could have called      legions of angels to rescue him from off the cross! He could have chosen to sin at      any time in his life and thus remove the possibility of eternal life for all of us! Indeed      (and thank God!) Jesus chose to obey God and do what God had marked out,      determined, declared and ordained for him to do!      Jesus did what God called him to do. God gave Him the ability and the power to do it.      Jesus supplied the determination to get to know God's will and purpose for his life,      through diligent study and prayer. Then Jesus applied what he learned, he did what he      knew he needed to do, in order to fulfill EACH prophecy which concerned him. God gave him      all the power he needed to get the job done.      What a tremendous effort that must have taken! Even though it was not always easy, Jesus did whatever it took to fulfill the call of God on His life!      Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith. Just as he is declared the son of God with      power, so is our faith built upon the same thing: we are sons of God with power. God      called you and me. He has a purpose for you, that only you can fulfill. I have a purpose      that only I can fulfill, also. God's power, the same power that He raised up Jesus from      the dead, works or operates, toward each of us who believe!      -Carol Kenreigh
