JESUS CHRIST:
     Our Foundation

     BE GOOD UNTO ALL

When we are out doing something else, our path may cross some one
who needs our help. Sometimes it's inconvenient to switch gears and help. We
may be made late or need to spend money. As the opportunities come
let's remember the words of Jesus and show mercy, deferring our plans
to help someone else. Let's do good unto ALL as we have the opportunity
     to do so.

     Galatians 6:10

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good
unto ALL men, especially unto them who are of the
household of faith.

God has put no difference between Jew, Gentile and the church of God,
male, female, bond nor free. All have fallen short of the glory of God.
There is none who are righteous by their own works; no not one. As we
have freely received, let us also freely give, being GOOD to ALL.

     Luke 10:29

But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus,
And who is my neighbour?

30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went
down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among
thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and
wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31 And by chance there came down a certain priest
that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the
other side.

32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place,
came and looked on him, and passed by on the other
side.

One would think the religious leaders would show the most
mercy on a man who befell such horrible circumstances. One would think
that whatever their plans were, nothing could be more important in their life
but to show mercy on a man who needed God's love and God's healing. After
all, isn't that the life's purpose for people who serve God? But, they did
not show the least bit of compassion. They ignored the need.

33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came
where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion
on him,

The Samaritans were disdained and called dogs by the Jews.
They were not hung out with. They were not respected. However, this
certain Samaritan happened by the guy who needed help. This "dog" had
compassion on the man where the religious leaders did not.

34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring
in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought
him to an inn, and took care of him.

He invested his time, probably had to change his plans (without being able
to make a phone call) and he spent his own money to help. That's why we
labor; so we have to give to them that need. That's why we need God
to be our sufficiency; that we may have plenty of seed to sow and
plenty of seed to meet our own need.

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour
unto him that fell among the thieves?

37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said
Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Amen.
