JESUS CHRIST:
     The Foundation of our Faith

     GLORY IN THE LORD

Glory in the flesh? What's to glory in? My accomplishments? My talents? My job?
My grades at school? All I am is a result of God's grace and mercy on my life. My
talents were given to me to use for God's purposes. He gave me an able mind to
think. What did I do and what have I been given that God didn't have His hand
     in first?

Glory in the flesh? The flesh is weak! That what I want to do I can't do and what I
don't want to do, I do anyway? Who shall deliver me from the body of this death!
OH! Thank God, HE will, through Jesus Christ my Lord! God through Christ changes
me from the old nature unto the new!

Glory in the Lord! Boast of Christ, lift up His name! Glory in what Christ accomplished
through his life, death and resurrection! I can do all things through Christ who infuses
me with inner strength! Of my own self, I can do nothing! I need the power I have in
Christ to succeed at doing God's will in my life. Henceforth, he who glories, let him
     glory in the Lord!

     Galatians 6:14

But God forbid that I should glory [boast or vaunt],
save
[except] in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto
the world.

That's the crux of it, that's the fulcrum of all Christianity;the cross of Christ and
what that ushered in for us spiritually. The world is dead in Christ. It may look like
its teeming with life, but everything that is of the world will be burned in the end. It
will not last. Outside of God and Christ, it has no value.

My flesh is dead in Christ. Through the cross of Christ (and all that it represents) the
world is crucified unto me. Through the cross of Christ I am crucified unto the world. I
no longer live unto the world or for the world's glory, honor and praise. I now live
for the glory of the Lord, for His honor, glory and praise. The focus is not upon me,
nor upon the world and the things in the world. The focus is on the name above all
     names, Christ Jesus, the Lord.

Because the world has been put to death through Christ and the victory is now ours
in Him, we need to decide to mortify, put to death, blow up to smithereens, our flesh and
all that the flesh tends to do, (lust, idolatry, uncleaness, evil, etc.) by focusing
on the things above instead, setting our affection on the Word and on the things of God.

Let us keep the old man crucified with Christ, by focussing on the things above, by
putting on the mind of Christ and glory, glory in the Lord! Amen. Amen.
