JESUS CHRIST:
     The Foundation of our Faith

     FULFILL THE LAW OF CHRIST!

     Galatians 6:2

Bear [through the idea of removal; lift ] ye
one another's burdens
[down falls, weights],
and so fulfil
[complete] the law of Christ.

The law of love replaced the law of Moses. We fulfill or complete
the law of love (the law of Christ) one to another by bearing
up, removing or lifting off heavy burdens from each other.

When someone is struggling with a heavy load in each arm, the
natural and loving thing to do is to offer to help carry some
of the packages. One may say," Here, may I help you with
     that?"
We can do the same for each other for mental burdens
     as well.

"How can I bless you? What can I do for you?" A pat on the
back, a word of encouragement, a victory sharing from our
own life, prayer, giving our time and talent or giving a gift
are several different ways we can help lift each others' burdens.

I felt very burdened last week. My church family knew
something was bothering me. When they asked, I
did not hide my load with a cover of, "Nothing." Instead
of carrying it around any longer, I asked for their prayers and
they encouraged me to believe. After their prayer, my burden
lifted. When I knew how much they loved me, it lifted even more.
When I was reminded God has it all covered and I can completely
trust in Him, I was not so distracted that the circumstances indicated
     otherwise.

What weighs you down? Our brothers and sisters in Christ also
carry loads too hard to bear alone. If we are willing to look away
from our own burden, keeping an eye on what's above and help others
with love and grace to remove their load, somehow our own burdens
may not feel quite so heavy anymore. Amen.

COMMENTS

As you have noticed, I took some time away from GWD this week. I needed to prepare for Sunday school class and to teach a ladies' Bible fellowship. Now that those obligations are fulfilled, I can focus on continuing GWD. Thanks.
