JESUS CHRIST:
     The Foundation of our Faith

     HE GAVE!

God so loved the world that He gave His Son. Jesus so loved the world that
He gave himself. We too can so love that we give of ourselves to one another also.

God gave Jesus to the people of the world. God called out Jesus to fulfill
His divine purpose. God equipped Jesus Christ with everything he needed
in order to fulfill this call on his life.

     John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus decided to heed the call of God. Jesus gave himself for the same
purpose. He fulfilled the will of God.

     Galatians 1: 4

Who gave himself for our sins, that he might
deliver us from this present evil world, according
to the will of God and our Father.

We too, can do the same thing, in the least, by giving ourselves
in love to each another. At the most, by using all the gifts, talents
and abilities God gave us, for the perfecting of the saints and the
work of the ministry of reconciliation.

     2 Corinthians 8:5

And this they did, not as we hoped, but
first gave their own selves to the Lord, and
unto us by the will of God.

     I John 4:7-11

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of
God; and every one that loveth is born of God,
          and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God
          is love.

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward
us, because that God sent his only begotten Son
into the world, that we might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but
that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the
          propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to
          love one another.

     2 Corinthians 5:13

For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God:
or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because
we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were
          all dead:

15 And that he died for all, that they which live
should not henceforth live unto themselves, but
unto him which died for them, and rose again.

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, let him be
          a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.

Let's follow in the footsteps of God and Jesus Christ. May we so love God
and each other, that we give our selves to the Lord first. After we
give ourselves to the Lord, then we can truly give ourselves to love one
another. Lets allow the love of Christ to constrain, or compel us to
grow and change, as The Holy Spirit works in our inner man, both to will
and do of His good pleasure.
     Amen.
