JESUS CHRIST:
     The Foundation of our Faith

     THE END OF THE LAW:
Now Live By Faith-Confess the Word

In several past issues, we have seen that Jesus Christ is our righteousness and justification.
We noted several times that we are saved by grace through faith and we continue to live by
faith. Lets look closer at the contrast between the Law and Faith.

     Romans 10:4, 5

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness
          to every one that believes.

5 For Moses describes the righteousness which is
of the law, That the man which does those things
          shall live by them.

Those who are under the Law must live by the Law. But Christ is the end of the Law of
righteousness to all who believe. How is righteousness of faith described? FAITH SPEAKS!

6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaks on this wise
Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven?
(that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring
up Christ again from the dead.

Faith speaks the Word without doubt. There are no nagging questions of doubt or wondering
about who, what, when or where in faith. You simply believe the Word of faith and speak
it forth. You take God at His Word. You confess the Word. This works for your
initial salvation and for your continued wholeness and receipt of every promise of
God from the moment of salvation on.

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy
mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which
          we preach;

The word of faith must be near you, in your mouth and in your heart. It must be first heard
      to get there..

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

9 That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has
raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.

          10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Say the same thing that God has said. Believe this Word from the depth of your heart.

For salvation, you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the
dead. For any other promise of God, you would confess and believe that promise.

Jesus is the end of the law to all who believe, by the heard and confessed word of faith without
doubt. We continue to live by faith by confessing and believing the promises of God, not
by working for our righteousness to perfect our flesh. Amen.
