JESUS CHRIST:
     The Foundation of our Faith

     JOINT HEIRS!

 

     So far, it has been established in the Book of Romans how we are justified by faith
     through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Neither our good works nor how
     worthy and deserving we are earned for us this designation. And so it goes also, that
     we are heirs of God according to promise, not by works!

 

     Romans 4:13, 14

          For the promise, that he should be the heir of the
          world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through
          the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

          For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is
          made void, and the promise made of none effect.

 

     Have you ever inherited a portion of someone's estate? Grandma gave all her female
     grandchildren her jewelry, dividing it between each girl. In her will, she also
     divided a portion of her savings between everyone in the family. But every
     one did not receive the same amount. I do not know what standard she used to decide
     who got what.

     Well, God has made all of us His heirs. Our inheritance is not based on how good
     we are or how deserving we are. It's all based in faith. We did not earn our inheritance.
     Not only did God make us heirs, He made us JOINT HEIRS with Christ!

 

     Romans 8:17

          And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and
          joint-heirs with Christ...

 

     Everything that Jesus inherited, we will inherit also. We are participants in common with
     Christ in the inheritance of God's Kingdom. We are co-heirs! It's a gift of God that we did not
     earn. He gave it because He loves us so much! He made us equal heirs with His only begotten
     Son! Praise God for His mercy, grace and loving-kindness! We are heirs of God and joint
     heirs with Christ through the righteousness of faith!
