JESUS CHRIST:      The Foundation of Our Faith      INNOCENT!        Ralph Snyder wrote an email about what he has been learning. I edited it      as best as I could without changing the main message. Where applicable,      scripture references were added.        On our way to work I had an epiphany as my partner read to me from      Demonstrating God's Power by Walter Cummins.      Rhonda read about how we are justified by the sacrifice Christ made.        Romans 5:9           Much more then, being now justified by his blood,           we shall be saved from wrath through him.        Do you know that a court of law never finds a defendant 'innocent'? They      always find a defendant either 'guilty' or 'not guilty'. So the best you can ever      get from man's judgment, including your own, is that you are not guilty of      breaking some code or law.        But God through Christ Jesus has justified us and made us righteous.      Although we are born in sin, we are innocent of wrongdoing. [Romans 6:7]        Galatians 3:11           But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God,           it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.        I thought about people who tend to hold others to a standard and look down      on them if they don't meet that standard.        Romans 10:2-4           For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God,           but not according to knowledge.           3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and           going about to establish their own righteousness, have           not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.           4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to           every one that believeth.        Those who try to establish their own righteousness are up to their ears in the idolatry      of holding some standard that they have chosen, above the words of God Almighty. How      pitiful it must be to have to continue to try and justify themselves and to never       be able to do it!      - Ralph Snyder
