GOD’S WORD DAILY

     VOLUME 1, ISSUE 116                                                             JANUARY 23, 2002

JESUS CHRIST:
     The Foundation of My Faith

     FREED FROM SIN!

When Jesus Christ died, the body of sin, [our old man nature], died with him.
[ Romans 6:3-8] that we would henceforth live for God in newness of life, as
     servants of righteousness.

We are freed from sin, both rendered and regarded as justified and innocent, and also,
liberated from and no longer in bondage to sin!

     Romans 6:6, 7

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him,
that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth
          we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

The word "freed" here means rendered, showed or regarded as justified or innocent.

Dead people are not guilty or innocent. They are dead. How can anyone judge a dead
person anything but dead? By the fruit we know people. There is no fruit in death.
Dead people cannot sin because the body of sin is destroyed and it is useless. They
can no longer serve sin. Therefore they are rendered free from sin; they are
innocent from sin from then on.

     Romans 6:4, 10, 11, 18

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:
that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory
of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

I know someone who died when he was a teenager. The mortician was about to tag his toe,
when he sat up on the table, ALIVE! When he found out that he was dead and was made alive
again, he woke up to God. He began to hunger to know God and hungered to serve Him. He
sought answers and sought to know the Bible. Today, he is still on his quest to live for
God and grow more mature in Christ every year!

Like a person who has been given a second chance, like someone who was dead and got
brought back to life, let us walk with a newness of life! Let's live in fresh new
Hope, and in a fresh new manner, which brings glory to the Father! Living for God,
serving God and glorifying God through Jesus Christ, in newness of life, and in the
liberty we have received, (no longer being entangled again in the yoke of bondage),
let us live as servants of righteousness!

10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he
          liveth, he liveth unto God.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto
sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

18 Being then made free [liberated, delivered out of the bondage]
from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

When we begin to obey from the heart, the apostles' doctrine, which we have been given,
[Romans 6:17] we will no longer be under servitude, the slavery of, nor under the bondage
of sin. We will become the servants of righteousness because we will be yielding to God's way
instead, in the newness of life that is in Christ! AMEN.

     Hi Carol!
I am struck by the fact that Forgiveness & Reconciliation seem to go hand on hand.
