GOD'S WORD DAILY

VOLUME 1, ISSUE 10                                          JULY 22, 2001

OUR WALK WITH GOD,
     WORD OF THE DAY:"LOVE"

Scripture reference:Ephesians 5:1, 2:

"Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children:

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself
for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour."

How did Christ demonstrate his love for us? He offered his life, his talents and his time to teach, and to demonstrate God's compassion, mercy and power. He went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. He was firm with the unfaithful (example: Jesus over threw the moneychangers'
tables in the temple). He sacrificed; he laid down his life for us! By his stripes, we were healed.
He shed his blood for the remission of our sins! He led his life in an exemplary manner.
Jesus Christ is our love walk example.

Read the gospels for a clearer picture on HOW he walked in love in various situations. How did he
react? What did he say? What did he do? How did he feel?

The Bible teaches there is no greater love than this, as when one will lay down his own life in place
of another person's life. Who will sacrifice his own life to save his friend's life? I do not know if
I will ever be in a situation which demands me to prove my love for my friends by having to sacrifice
my life for them! However, I can offer my time to help save them, spiritually, by living the Word as
best as I can, by exhortation, comfort, teaching, helping and serving them. I can give up more temporal
dreams and offer my life in service to God and man, serving God, not mammon.

I Corinthians 13:8 proclaims, "Charity never fails…" Verse 13 adds, "And now abides faith, hope,
charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."

Love never fails (falls to the ground, void.) It may not be appreciated, it may not be reciprocated,
it may flat out be rejected, it may not be acknowledged, or it may be taken for granted. But it never
becomes void. No matter how your walk in love is received (remember Christ was CRUCIFIED
for his love!) it will not fail. You, at the least, are planting little seeds of love
that will bear fruit and reap an abundant love harvest later! At the most, your love
will help someone get born again and reap their own rewards for all eternity!

Here are a few more things about love for you to consider:

" But by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt
love thy neighbor as thyself."
Galatians 5:13a,14

Remember from I Corinthians13--without love, there is no profit in what we do. With out love, we are
nothing.Without love, our service means nothing.

"For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails (strong in body; to be mighty, powerful ; to prevail )
any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works
(is energized) by love."

What is strong, powerful and mighty? Faith is, which is made effective, active, operates and is energized by love.

So, if you want to believe God bigger, then love bigger.

Love never fails. Walk in love.
