OUR WALK WITH GOD,
WORD OF THE DAY: "FAITH" (believing)

Scripture reference: ROMANS 4:12,13:

"And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision
only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham,
which he had being yet uncircumcised.

For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not
to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the
righteousness of faith."

Let me try to explain this. God gave Abraham a promise that he would be the
father of many nations. He did not have any children yet. He received this
promise even BEFORE he got the seal of circumcision on his body, which signified
the covenant between God and man.

The act of circumcision became part of the law. All males had to be circumcised
and had to uphold ALL the law in order to be righteous. Today, we are not made
righteous by the works of the law, but we are made righteous when we believe.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus, and shall believe,
in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with
the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made
unto salvation."
(Romans 10:9,10)

So Abraham is called the father of believing. Can you imagine why? Here's this old
guy who has no kids at all and God promises that he'll be the father of many nations.
That's not to say, God would make him just a daddy of a lot of kids! He would be a
father of MANY NATIONS! (Having a lot of kids to me is about 10-12). Many nations of
children could be millions and billions!

Abraham did not have to stress out about the promise. There was NO WAY for him,
by himself to make that kind of thing happen! He HAD to trust in and rely upon
God for the fulfillment of the promise!

"(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he
believed, even God, who quickened the dead, and calls those things which be not as
though they were. Who against hope believed in hope…"

"He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith,
giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able
also to perform. And therefore it was imputed (put to his account) to him for righteousness.
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus
our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our
justification."
(Romans 4:17, 18, 20-25)

God calls those things that do not yet exist as if they do!

To receive the promise of salvation, we too, need to call those things that are not
( I am righteous, am saved) as if it already is, by confession and by believing
that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead.(NO WORKS OF THE FLESH
ARE REQUIRED FOR ITS FULFILLMENT). This begins our walk with God.

We will receive any other promise made by God in the same fashion.
(Call it as if you already have it, confess with believing, be
fully persuaded, give glory to God). This is our walk of faith.
