GOD’S WORD DAILY

     VOLUME 1, ISSUE 90                                                              NOVEMBER 1, 2001

WORD OF THE DAY:
     BE THANKFUL

There is much for which to be thankful! Regardless of our situation, circumstances,
environment, troubles, concerns or tribulations, there are many things to praise God
and give thanks! We are alive, we have hope in Christ, joy in the holy spirit, peace with
God, salvation through Christ and the list goes on and on! God receives glory and praise
for all He has done for us when we give thanks.

Below you will find a list of Scriptures that describe for what to give thanks. This list is not
exhaustive. For more details, study the words "thanksgiving," "thanks" and
     "thankful," using any good concordance.

     Colossians 3:15

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
          to the which also ye are called in one body;
          and be ye thankful.

     Ephesians 5:20

Giving thanks always for all things unto God
and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

     Philippians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known unto God.

     2 Thessalonians 2:13

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God
for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because
God hath from the beginning chosen you to
salvation through sanctification of the Spirit
          and belief of the truth.

     Hebrews 13:15

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of
praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of
our lips giving thanks to his name.

     2 Corinthians 9:15

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

     1 Corinthians 14:17a

For thou verily givest thanks well, [when you speak in tongues]...

     1 Corinthians 15:57

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory
          through our Lord Jesus Christ.

     2 Corinthians 2:14

Now thanks be unto God, which always causes
us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the
savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

     2 Corinthians 4:15

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant
grace might through the thanksgiving of many
redound to the glory of God.

Let us be thankful in all things, giving God glory and praise, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
