GOD’S WORD DAILY
WORD OF THE DAY:
     BE GENTLE

Scripture references: 2 Timothy 2:24, 25a
There are many characteristics that identify us as practicing Christians.Likewise, there are
     2 Timothy 2:24, 25a
          And the servant of the Lord must not strive;
but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing those that oppose
          themselves...
God's servant, the sold out bond slave of the Lord, must not strive. To strive with others
In contrast to striving, the servant of the Lord must be gentle unto all. Gentleness
is affable, it is mild, it is kind. Hurting, mixed up people do not need someone yelling and
screaming and cussing at them to get their act together. They need love, tenderness,
forgiveness, compassion and kindness. Then they will be able to hear the Word that will
deliver them from their destruction. The goodness of God leads us to repentance. The
servants of the Lord must be gentle unto ALL..
The servant of the Lord must be apt to teach. That means to be instructive. Look for
teachable moments. Just get in there and do it, but be prepared. Have your feet shod with
the preparation of the gospel of peace. In season, out of season: reprove, rebuke, exhort,
with all longsuffering and doctrine. Be ready always to give an answer to every man who
asks you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and respect. If servants are
ready always, they will be prepared always. Servants do not live one way with one group
of people and live a different way in front of another group of people. Servants are the same
from one situation to the next. They are ready to serve, apt to teach no matter who is
around, no matter what situation they are in.
The Lord's servant must be patient. Like gentleness, patience is fruit of the spirit, which is
cultivated in our lives when we speak in tongues much and operate the other manifestations
of holy spirit with God's love. Patience means enduring long or forbearance. It "endures ill"
as the Power Bible CD puts it. Patience sees the end result, no matter how long it takes and
waits until it comes to pass. Patience does not "want it right now, right this instant,"
becoming huffy if it doesn't happen fast enough. Patience waits. Patience forbears.
     Patience endures.
Also, the servant of the Lord must instruct, educate, train up ( like one trains up a child,
with constant repetition), those who oppose themselves, with meekness. Those who
oppose themselves are they who set themselves opposite to the Word of God. They are
disputatious and contentious. The instructor must educate them with meekness. A meek
instructor is not a puffed up, know it all who lords knowledge over people. Meekness
indicates a heart of "gentleness, by implication, humility." [Power Bible CD] It comes right
back to the goodness of God leading us to repentance!
In conclusion, the servants of the Lord must not strive. They must be gentle unto all. They
must be apt to teach and be patient. With meekness, they must educate those who oppose
     themselves. Amen.

Carol-
"Must Be Born Again" was great. I really reminded me that
I am part of God's family, and He loves me everlastingly.
It's really great to know that and be able recieve his
awesome love, gifts, and power.
I have been reading that book you suggested to me this
summer, How To Succeed At Being Yourself.[by
Joyce Meyer] It's great.I really needed to hear many of
the things it talks about.
God Bless!!!
