GOD’S WORD DAILY

     VOLUME 1, ISSUE 79                                                             OCTOBER 18 , 2001

WORD OF THE DAY:
     "BE FAITHFUL"

     Scripture references: I Corinthians 4:2

     BE FAITHFUL

There are many qualities characteristic of faithful Christians.
In this study, we will delve into several (not all) of them. Namely,
someone who is faithful tells the truth. He keeps confidences, he
is meek and honorable. He is an example of living the Word and he
     is obedient to God.

"Moreover it is required in stewards,
that a man be found faithful."

     Faithful= trustworthy, believing, sure, true.

The faithful conceal confidences. The faithful keep secrets and will not blabbermouth
private information to others. When someone goes to the faithful for wise counsel or for
advice about a private matter, the faithful will keep a lid on it and will not discuss it
     with others.      Prov 11:13

A talebearer revealeth secrets, but he that is
          of a faithful spirit conceals
[hides, covers]
          the matter.

     The faithful tell the truth.

     Proverbs 14:5

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false
          witness will utter lies.

Here are characteristics found in faithful Daniel:

     Daniel 6: 4

Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion
against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could
find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful,
neither was there any error or fault found in him.

The faithful are meek and obedient.

     1 Samuel 2:35

And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do
according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind:
and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk
          before mine anointed for ever.

The faithful are meek and honorable.

     1Samuel 22:14

Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who
is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is
the king's son in law, and goes at thy bidding, and is
          honourable in thine house?

The faithful are good examples of living and teaching the principles
     and precepts of God.

     1Corinthians 4:17

For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who
is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall
bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in
Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

In conclusion, a steward for God is required to be faithful. Faithfulness
envelopes several characteristics, among which include:

  •      Truthful,
  •      Concealer of confidences,
  •      Meek and obedient,
  •      Meek and honorable,
  •      Good examples who live and teach the Word.
