GOD’S WORD DAILY
WORD OF THE DAY:
     BE AT PEACE
Peace. Calm. Quiet. Serene. Harmony. Unity.
Merely hearing all these words out loud conjure up in me the feeling of peace. How peace
I have lived many, many years without peace with God, without peace within and without
peace in my home, before I finally was delivered from all the strife, factions, war,
divisions, disagreements, storming and malaise. I must still deal with unpeaceful
people and situations, but God be praised that He leads me beside still waters; that
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I can fear no evil. He is God
my peace. He desires I be at peace, have peace with others, and live in peace, as much as
lies within me, with others, also.
     1Thessalonians 5:13
And to esteem them very highly in love for their
work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
This is an easy thing to say.How can we have peace among ourselves?
     Matthew 9:50
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness,
wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves,
and have peace one with another.
Where there is commitment to God and to our Lord Jesus Christ, where there is
Those without salt do not have peace.
Romans 12:18
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Angry, strife filled, fearful, unfaithful people are very difficult to live with in peace. As much
For example, during someone else's fits of rage, try to remember a soft answer turns away
wrath. Do not add fuel to the fire of their arguments. Let off the contention before it is
meddled with. You do not have to let verbal assaults steal your peace. You do not have to
     let it into your heart.
What helps me is to speak in tongues and to remember that someone else's anger is not my
anger, that God loves me no matter what and that I am not responsible for someone else's
rage, no matter how much they may say that I am. It is their problem. Rage is not a normal,
godly response to situations. (There is a difference between being angry and spiritually
indignant, without sin, like Jesus did and with rage.)
     2 Corinthians 13:11
          Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect,
[complete thoroughly, repair or adjust] be of good
comfort, be of one mind, [ exercise the mind, i.e.
entertain or have a sentiment or opinion; by
implication, to be (mentally) disposed (more or
less earnestly in a certain direction); intensively, to
interest oneself in (with concern or obedience)]
live in peace; and the God of love and peace
          [eirene] shall be with you.
When believers and family members are like-minded and salted, they have peace inside and
     2Peter 3:14 b
...be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace,
          without spot, and blameless.
May we live peaceably with all men by being diligent and by having salt within ourselves,
