HOW JESUS LOVED, Part 11
     WORD OF THE DAY:"ADMONISHES"

Scripture reference: Matthew 7:15-20

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes
of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a
corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a
corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is
hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. "

What kind of mother would not warn her small, young children of looming danger ahead,
when they totter toward oncoming traffic!? "WATCH OUT!" "STOP!" she would yell.

Good mothers also warn her children to pick their friends wisely. Rotten fruit will
spoil the whole bushel of good fruit if left together for too long. Jesus warned his
disciples to look for the fruit in the prophets' lives to verify the prophets'
ministry, whether true or false.

Jesus warned his disciples of things to watch out for, to be cautious about, to pay
attention to, and to beware of. He wanted them to be safe from harm, unspoiled.

This is not the only record in the Word where Jesus admonishes his disciples.
He also warns them about the following:

Not to do their alms to be seen of men. (Matthew 6:1)
     Of false prophets (Matthew 7:15)
Of men who will deliver them to councils for persecution (Matthew 10:17)
Of doctrine of Pharisees and Sadducees which is hypocrasy (Matthew 16:6, 11,12; Luke 12:1)
Of scribes who vaunt themselves up and love recognition (Luke 20:46)
     Of self:
If brother trespasses against you (Luke 17:3)
Heart not to be intoxicated, drunken and burdened with the affairs of life.
          (Luke 21:34)

Jesus demonstrated his love for and concern about His disciples by admonishing them. He warned them so they would
not be taken in and deceived, distracted or harmed or spoiled by the rotten fruit.

Let us take heed to Jesus' warnings and beware.
Let us love as Jesus loved and admonish each other also.
